TEA PARTY IN COLUMBUS OHIO

Well it is almost time for the tea party to start. The crowd is getting larger and it is a pretty enthusiastic. I am a little upset that there are quite a few politicians speaking and that takes away from the grass roots movement that this tea party should be about. I will have an overall post about the tea party posted tonight hopefully

I'm back

Ok so I know it has been forever since I've blogged, but with school and I got a promotion at work I have been extremely busy. I've seem to have found a nice groove so I plan on getting back to blogging. It may not be as much as when the election was going on, but expect to see more from me.

Government Gone Wild

With all the fury over the AIG's executive bonuses, and the public unrest over the bailout of Wall Street our country is heading down a slippery slope, and our current administration/congress is adding fuel to the fire. Liberals have been able to masterfully use the AIG bonus fiasco amongst other crisis as a fantastic smoke screen for their failures and master plan . How is it that the public could get so upset about $165 million dollars to the point that majority of the people who received the largest amounts of the bonuses returned the money, but couldn't get that upset over the original $750 billion in TARP funds that was passed back in September? Why is it that employees of bailed out companies are receiving death threats, and hate mail and that's acceptable? The main plan of this administration is to get the public so fired up and upset about employee/executive compensation for companies that we will easily allow the government to take over. It's easy to get upset over the fact that executives at this failing company received bonuses, but what the public needs to realize is that these bonuses were contractual agreements. I think that's what people fail to realize. The company was contractually obligated to pay bonuses, and by law they would've been sued if those bonuses weren't paid out. What the public needs to be mad at is that if AIG would've been able to declare bankruptcy instead of the government becoming the financial services company in chief the bonuses wouldn't have been paid, and the American public wouldn't have to fund some $180 billion dollars to keep this failing company afloat.

What amazes me is how the public refuses to hold it's elected officials accountable. The democrats refuse to own up to the mistake that allowed the bonuses to take place. In the stimulus bill the Senate included an exemption clause which said new rules "shall not be construed to prohibit any bonus payment required to be paid pursuant to a written employment contract executed on or before February 11, 2009." Who is the head of the Senate Banking Committee? That would be Chris Dodd, who happens to be a democrat, and his house counterpart Barney Frank in the House Financial Services Committee. The democrats were in such a rush to pass the 1,073 page stimulus bill that NOT ONE single member of Congress read the bill in it's entirety. While the democrats continue to blame the republicans for this mess I wonder if anyone noticed that it was republicans who originally wanted to tax the COMPANIES that paid bonuses that received government assistance. The key word here is taxing the companies. The Fascist House of Representatives led by Nancy Pelosi passed legislation that would tax the bonuses of INDIVIDUALS who worked for companies that received government money up to 90%. That's right 90% ladies and gentlemen. It amazes me that Rep. Charlie Rangel introduced the bill when he himself apparently has problems paying his own taxes. Barney Frank recently introduced legislation called the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009", which would allow the government to control the pay for not just executives, but EVERY single employee of a company that took government money. Barney Frank is also welcome to the idea of setting compensation restrictions to ALL US COMPANIES and not just companies that have received any government money This gives the Treasury department unprecedented power to control compensation packages for potentially millions of Americans. Do you want the government to determine how much you should get paid? Are we willing to allow our government to control how much every employee can make and allow the government to make it's own standard on what they feel is excessive pay? While Americans are naive to think that the government will only apply that standard to CEO's and other high level executives I am not. Once we relinquish power to the government it is only a matter of time before the government has absolute power.
While most Americans are celebrating the fact that GM's CEO was forced to resign at President Obama's orders I am not. Each company that received money from the government decided their fate when they got in bed with the government. What the mainstream media isn't reporting, and explaining the disaster waiting to happen is that our Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is now asking for the power to step in and take over ANY company that poses a risk to our economy. This is where the danger of populism and class warfare becomes evident. Since the public is so angry at big business right now they are willing to give the government supreme authority over publicly traded companies. I wonder how many Americans work for publicly traded companies. The government will be the supreme authority on the financial market. Is this the change that Americans wanted? Did Americans want change that would potentially double our national deficit in ten years? Americans didn't know what change they wanted when they voted this administration and this current Congress into office, and since it was our naivete that caused this mess we only have ourselves to blame.

I know I know. I haven't written anything lately

I know I haven't posted anything, and to be honest I have just been really busy with work, and getting everything ready for winter quarter at school. Lots to talk about, and I will be writing again shortly. Prop 8, and the continuing saga of the bailout will be top priorities.

UPDATE 9:20
OHIO HAS BEEN CALLED FOR BARACK OBAMA BY FOX NEWS

With that call for Ohio I am calling this election for Obama. Obama will be our next President. It is an historic night for America.

States to Watch Tonight

Barack Obama has multiple paths to reach the magic 270 number in electoral votes. The states we need to look out for.
Virginia
Ohio
Florida
Pennsylvania
New Mexico
Nevada
Missouri
North Carolina
Indiana

If Obama can pull off an upset in Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina I find it virtually impossible for McCain to win the election. I believe NC and Virginia will still fall under the red column. Indiana I'm not so sure about.

In Ohio my homestate McCain needs to run up huge margins in the rural areas. Hamilton County which is the city of Cincinnati has voted Republican for the past 44 years. I believe McCain will lost in Hamilton County, but McCain needs to win the surronding counties. He needs to run up high margins in Butler, Warren, and Clermont county as well. In Franklin County, Obama will win and I suspect it will be by a huge margin. Cleveland which is a reliable Democratic strong hold will vote heavily for Obama.

North Carolina will be an interesting state to watch. They have a very intense Senate race with incumbent Senator Elizabeth Dole, and challenger Kay Hagen. The Democratic challenger will get a huge boost with the young and black vote that is heavily tilted for Obama.

Virigina has seen a shift from a Republican stronghold to leaning Democratic. Northern Virginia is expected to brake for Obama, but the rest of the state is heavily Republican and that will be the deciding factor if McCain can hold on to Virginia.

First Exit Polls Results

Cnn is reporting it's first exit polls results. It will be interesting to see if these exit polls match the actual results. CNN is trying to establish the credibility of the exit polls. Right.

62% of voters stated that the economy was the top issue. No suprise there,
10% said Iraq was the top issue.
9& said Healthcare and Terrorism was the top issue.

Update 5:08pm

Fox News Exit polls right now

51% of respondants say government should be more involved to solve problems. 43% say government is doing too much.
67& is worried about getting health care
32% of voters worry about affording health care.
68& favor offshore oil drilling
75% of voters say Supreme Court appointees was a factor in their decisions
70% believe taxes will go up if Obama wins. 61% believe their taxes will go up if McCain wins.

Fox News is reporting that in Virginia a judge has ordered to preserve the ballots of Absentee ballots need to be preserved and a hearing will be scheduled for Nov 10th to hear the merits of the case. If the vote is close in Virginia we may not know the outcome of that states election.

Update 5:28
Fox News has more exit polls results.
66% say McCain attacked Obama unfairly.
New Voters in Indiana 73% voted for Obama 27% McCain
In Indiana White men voted McCain 54% and Obama 44%
Ohio Obama 47% McCain 51
Virginia 49% Obama 58& McCain

Late deciders
Indiana 52% for Obama 45 McCain
Ohio 54% Obama 39% McCain
Virginia 44% Obama McCain 55%

Whats interesting an worrrysome for McCain is that late deciders in Ohio broke heavily in favor for Barack Obama. In Virginia 55% broke for McCain and that gives hope that he may be able to hold on to Virginia.

Update 5:40
CNN
New Voters
72% for Barack Obama
27% for John McCain
